Najpar Family – Bringing the Past to Life

Digital reconstruction of family history using artificial intelligence — a project that brings back the memory of the old Vukovar Najpar family, whose former garden is now the site of the Vukovar Water Tower.

The Najpar Family project was created from a very limited number of preserved photographs and basic historical data. Using artificial intelligence, each family member was transformed into a digital avatar that “comes to life” on camera and shares a few sentences about themselves, their life, and the time in which they lived.

The individual AI-generated statements were combined into a single, emotional promotional video that allows the viewer not only to see the past — but to feel it.

This project demonstrates how AI can become a powerful tool for preserving cultural heritage, memory, and identity — even when original materials are minimal.

What this project shows about the possibilities of AI
